Tennis!

Thanks to Saj, who spent countless hours before the trip searching for tennis tickets and befriending all of the French ticket resellers, we managed to get tickets to watch the Roland Garros French Open.  With all of us being tennis lovers - even little Noah - the tournament was the intended trip highlight for us all.

And it didn't disappoint!

After a stormy start to the tournament, we were incredibly lucky to have a clear skies  for almost most of the day.  The tournament grounds are small, with intimate stadiums and grounds and a relaxed and knowledgeable crowds.  The players walked around without security and talked to fans. And the tennis was awesome.  Novak Djokovic is an unbelievable player - so poised and methodical - he looked like he hardly even broke a sweat to win his match.  But it was Tsonga, the French hero, that really offered the match of the day.  He played intensely but strategically, weaving back and forth to the net, to take his match powerfully to the deafening cheers of the French fans.

To top things off, both Canadians (Bouchard and Raonic) won their matches!
