As part of a conference Geoff was involved in, he was invited to a Polo tournament at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. Lucky for Beth, Geoff's work date had to cancel at the last minute, opening up a spot!
Even better, the polo afternoon hosted not just horse polo...but camel polo!
To play camel polo, two people actually ride the camel. One steers the camel and the other focuses on hitting the ball. The camels seem slightly smaller than regular camels, making it a little easier to reach down and whack the ball.
We are not sure whether some of the riders were fairly new at the game, but it all seemed a little more chaotic and unstructured than traditional polo, making it a humorous and enjoyable game to watch.
Much like regular polo, the riders seemed very happy to get off their animals at the end of the game and come and enjoy a gorgeous lunch spread and some champers.
