Having a very long layover en route back from Toronto, Beth made the most of her time by heading into Amsterdam's Museum District to visit the spectacular Rijks Museum.
Arriving before the Museum actually opened, Beth found a charming cafe at the nearby Concert Hall to enjoy breakfast and watch the world go by before heading over to the Museum to get reacquainted with some of her favourite painters.
Vermeer, Rembrandt, Breitner and Van Gogh's works still awe-induce today and serve as a powerful reminder of the Netherlands' global leadership and dominance in the 1700s and 1800s.
Slight bus troubles aside (which led to chaotic running around town looking for an ATM), the trip into town was the perfect refreshment before the second leg of the journey back to Dubai.
