Delicious Peru!

We have been surprised by just how delightful the food has been in Peru.

The Peruvian's use of potatoes, quinoa and local produce have allowed us to enjoy many local delicacies easily adjusted to accommodate vegetarian preferences.

Even the street food is delicious!

We had never really thought of Peruvian cuisine as a "go to" option for us but after this trip we will certainly seek it out in future.

Some of our favourite spots were:

·         IK – A molecular gastronomie menu in a lush and tropical style room.  Beth enjoyed her dessert right from a cocoa pod.

·         La Barra at Astrid Y Gaston – a Michelin-rated restaurant that was actually somewhat overrated.  The food was good but the service was confused and haphazard, while at the same time, very rushed!

·         Huaca Pucciana – A restaurant at the foot of the Huaca Pucciana ruins, it served varied and interesting vegetarian options (in addition to meat ones) to complement the beautiful views.

·         Alma Zen – An adorable tea-room style lunch restaurant with home-cooked fare.
