Brrr...

It turns out that giving away all of our winter clothes was not our smartest move.

Although we had anticipated skipping Canadian winters for many years to come, this all got flipped on its head when we decided to throw a Conference in Toronto in February.

How quickly we had forgotten how cold winters in Canada could be.  Our raincoats and tennis jackets were no defence against the coldest February in Toronto's history.
Too late to cancel the Conference, we borrowed clothes from family members and bundled up in everything we owned.  If it had been socially acceptable to wear a snowsuit to the event, we surely would have.

Thank goodness the Conference went well.  But a note to self for the future:  Conferences should only be hosted during summer months.
